3 Delicious Anti-Inflammatory Tea Recipes To Try This Fall – There is something about curling up with a good book and a hot cup of tea in the fall. Teas have so many benefits like promoting heart health, fighting Cancer, improving bone strength, protecting the brain, rejuvenating skin cells, and containing anti-inflammatory ingredients. No wonder tea has been around for thousands of years.  When dealing with chronic illness or chronic pain we are often left searching for natural ways reduce inflammation. Here are 3 anti-inflammatory tea recipes to try this fall.

Green Tea

There are many different flavors of green tea you can enjoy. So long as those green tea leaves are present, you’re going to get all those great health benefits that come with it. You can even throw in your favorite herbs, such as ginger, mint or chamomile. Here is one of my favorite ways to make Green Tea.

Minty Green Tea

Ingredients:

  • Fresh mint leaves – 1/2 cup
  • Green tea bags – 2
  • Honey – 1 tsp

Directions:

Add the washed and chopped mint leaves, add the tea bags and pour boiling water over the top. Add honey and let it steep for 10 minutes and enjoy.

Turmeric Tea 

Turmeric, the main spice in curry, is known to be one of the most powerful herbs on the planet at fighting and potentially reversing disease. Turmeric is highly anti-inflammatory, and this golden turmeric tea recipe is sure to leave you feeling better.

Turmeric Tea Recipe:

Total Time: 5 minutes Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp Turmeric (powder or grated root)

Directions:

  1. Pour coconut milk and water into the saucepan and warm for 2 minutes
  2. Add in butter, raw honey and turmeric powder for another 2 minutes
  3. Stir and pour into glasses, enjoy.

Black Tea

A cup of simple black tea is rich in quercetin, a bioflavanoid that has anti-inflammatory effects. Please be careful, Black tea is high in caffeine, which can make you jittery or affect some medications, so be sure to discuss with your doctor before making it a new part of your routine. Here is one of my favorites.

Non-Alcoholic Black Tea Hot Toddy:

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 1 Serving

Ingredients:
*
1 cup Filtered Water
*(Optional) 5 Cloves
*(Optional) 1 stick Cinnamon
*(Optional) Star Anise
*1 Tbsp. Black tea
*1 Tbsp. Honey
*1 wedge of Lemon or 1 TSB of Lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Combine water and spices in a pot.
  2. Bring water to just below boiling and remove from heat.
  3. Add black tea.
  4. Steep for 4 minutes, and then strain into a large mug.
  5. Stir in honey.
  6. Squeeze lemon into the mug.
  7. (Optional) Drop the lemon into the mug for a stronger citrus flavor.
